Description

It was about time that Pip got to this stage of his life, but he was only a few steps away from fulfilling what he believed to be his purpose in life. Primeapes weren't made to make friends or to wander the streets of the towns, it wasn't the correct lifestyle choice for a gijinka like him. Pip needed this to feel content with his life, all after the struggles he had faced to try and fit in; of course, he was going to have to hang in there for another round, maybe even another if he could manage it.

The stadium was filled to the brim to witness Pip's match, the poor little creature struggling already to comprehend how many were sitting out there to watch his match. Due to the dropping number of competitors, Pip's match was right in the afternoon with a gentle breeze and moderate sun with clouds overcast at the odd time. It was good, Pip never liked the strong sun at the best of times; however, the main difference it would make would be his opponent won't have an advantage like his last one did. He was up against somebody he was familiar with, somebody who had used dirty tricks against him by double-teaming against him.

Pip wasn't going to let this guy get the better of him this time, Pip had received useful tips before he was to fight because the Grovyle had been a little less than sporting before, Pip was hoping deep within him that he could pull this off without screwing everything up. Pip bounced around on the field, his fighting spirit flowing through him like a river in flood. There was only one thing that Pip was waiting for and that was one sound, his ears twitching right up until the noise he was waiting for blasted through the stadium.

The loud noise not only brought Pip into his fighting state, it also set him off too. Pip was actively fleeing Aajay as he ran around the arena, the look on the Grovyle's face much to be desired. There was no way Pip could possibly be serious as he monkey'd around the place, bouncing and hopping around like he had been given a massive dose of sugar. As Pip bounced around, Aajay followed after him, trying to hit him where ever he went.

Tempers were beginning to flare, the stadium filled with mixed emotions. Whether the fights had become too much for Pip to handle or whether he was smarter than people realised, both questions seemed to be building as Pip continued to flee and dodge incoming attacks. As much as Aajay screamed at Pip in frustration, Pip squealed right back. There was no way Pip was going to let Aajay hit him, but he was going to try and predict what he was about to do.

Primeapes weren't all about raging and going all out, there was a reason why Pip had kept his tail through evolution and Pip was going to go all out in using that gift. Running all over the place, Pip eventually found a special place to pull off his plan. While he had done this before in the tournament, he hoped that the build up in tempers was enough to throw Aajay off. Pip had raced up a tree and hid in the branches, much to the annoyance of his opponent and the crowd.

As Aajay approached the tree, Pip waited patiently with anger on his face, his toes digging into the poor tree. Aajay was coming, his body poised and ready to deliver an Acrobatics move, his image doubled as he moved at great speed; however, Pip's readiness and stealth had allowed Pip to act first. Pip had managed to grab Aajay with an Iron Tail attack, but not quite as planned; while Pip had been aiming for Aajay's neck, his timing had left Aajay hanging by his head.

Pip had managed to grab Aajay with his tail wrapped around the Grovyle's face, the poor gijinka left there dangling while kicking out wildly for Pip to let go; however, Pip was not going to give him this freedom. Pip was still completely worked up and angry, it was always a bad thing when a Primeape had been wound up enough to get angry after fleeing; of course, fleeing from an opponent was so un-Primeape of him.

With the fight not over, Aajay tried desperately to get free as he tried to Crunch Pip's Iron Tail, but a dark-type move was ineffective against a steel-type move. It was a matter of who would attack next in this struggle with Pip powering up an Ice Punch that would surely leave Aajay struggling, versus a building up Drain Punch that would be used to weaken Pip greatly.

The crowd were getting excited over this new development, the pair were both struggling to keep grip with Pip sliding backwards off the branch and Aajay almost parting ways with his body. The next move would decide who might get the upper hand and who might end up battered and who might end up sliced apart as all eyes remained on the angry ape and the wood gecko.

---

Man, this piece exhausted me ._. Especially Aajay's position, hahah...sorry. I think it was because there's nothing in my mind that would bring me to imagine how it might look to be hanging by your face, struggling to get free, or maybe it's because of something else. Oh well, I tried.

Pip was a little difficult, typically because I had to make him look like he was struggling without relying on his mouth for expression too much. Primeapes aren't supposed to have visible mouths (then again they're not supposed to have physical tails either!), but I was still determined to try and get Pip looking like a Primeape rather than a human. Pip needed to look like a Primeape while holding the weight of Aajay, luckily that worked well enough without having to focus on his abs or mouth for power and expression.

Oh look, a Pidgey. Get out of that tree, Pidgey. Good thing it's not where those two are.

The tree was a little bit difficult because of the position as well, plus having it half out of focus was difficult too without losing its shape and colours. I didn't want it taking the attention away from the three lifeforms in the picture, so it's looking fairly tree-like and not completely in focus at all. It's all Samurai Jack style. The leaves were fun, but difficult, had to make a new brush for those...

Oh well, hopefully this colour pallet works well and here's hoping I can make it through to the finals. This piece took so long to create, all because of all the problems I had to navigate passed.
