Application: Jurou

An application for my gijinka Kitsune, Jurou.

Gender: Male

Youkai: Guardian Fox (Kitsune): Jurou is part of a sect of demon foxes in charge of guarding the shrines of Inari; the God of Rice and Food. The ribbons wrapped around Jurou are traditional, except his has become a little excessive as time went on.

Youkai Group: Beast

Ability: Fox Fire: This ability can only damage those who are of evil intentions, causing fire damage to them if they mean harm. The ability cannot be used on people of good heart and will simply come into contact with them with no damage at all.

Transformation: Jurou is capable of transforming his shape; however, due to his tails being tied together, he seems to have trouble with this power.

Job: Worker; does various jobs of any nature, as long as he can find peace in his work. Due to his lack of control with his abilities, he doesn’t feel he can become part of the militia.

Leaders: Daija/Shigeru (Worker/Beast)

Personality: Jurou can be hyperactive when work is afoot, becoming rapid in movement to get the job done with utter care. A quiet fellow, he’ll keep his mouth shut when it is needed, but will sometimes lose his temper and begin to speak his mind. While he isn’t so keen on physical force, when he does get involve in such activity, he will try to impress more than anything.

For a youkai of his size, he will try to stand up for himself, but tends to have a terrible time doing so. When working, he may sing to himself but keeps this quiet to a series of whistles or hums. While very obedient, his kitsune nature can sometimes sneak in, meaning he may become tempted to pull some pranks. He’s rather weak willed when it comes to taking orders or even being encouraged, but will look to see if there is a way out first if he doesn’t agree with such behaviour.

History: Jurou was one of the ten kitsune guardians of a large shrine dedicated to Inari; the God of Rice and Food. The god represents all that Jurou is;a fox creature. Jurou and the other kitsune slept in stone when images of Inari began to disappear and stone guardians were kept to guard the shrines; as statues, they kept an eye on all those who may enter the shrine. The shrine was well kept and respected by the locals, until one disastrous day when a sudden earthquake struck the region. The temple suffered minimum damage, but due to loose structures set up to reinforce the ancient shrine for repairs, Jurou’s statue was damaged.

Unfortunately for Jurou, the damage caused him to alter form, breaking his face and blinding him in one eye, damaging him and his spirit. While the damage wasn’t so terrible that it would never be repaired, it caused him to lose sight in one eye and forfeit proper use of his hands. The workers at the shrine tried their best to clean up, tying ribbons around the damaged areas to hide the problems.

While this seemed like a good idea to the humans, Jurou’s physical body was damaged and the ribbons that were supposed to hide his cracks were bound to him. He couldn’t remove any of them, but worse of all was the ones that were wrapped around his tails. Due to the kitsune statues only having one tail, his other tails were bound together as one. It was a disaster and a bit of an embarrassment; the five tails he had lived so long to get were now under the power as one. He couldn’t do all he could do before, but was just forced to live with it for now. A God could remove the ribbons, but that wasn’t easy. He would have to earn his right to get the ribbons removed, even if it would remove one tail at a time.

If he was a more vengeful kitsune like many of his brethren are, he would had brought terrible fortune to those who damaged him; however, as Inari's words reached him in meditation, he was prevented from taking action.

For the rest of Jurou’s body; he had to make due with what was possible, getting another youkai to construct some leather bindings to hide the major damage done to him. He had a glass eye fitted over the void that was once his eye and, hopefully when his statue is finally repaired, he will be able to remove such contraptions.

Misc info:

Just because I said he could join militia doesn't mean he will; he'll stay with Daija.
His tails are rather long for his small size, to which is 4'11".
He can see through his glass eye, but the vision isn't in colour.
The symbols draping over him says Kitsune on the right, Inari/Oinari on the left; this was left due to the shrine being home to some tanuki as well.
His fire is a purple-blue in colour.
His smarts were slightly lost along with the tying of his tails, so generally he's not as wise as other Kitsune his age.
His gloves are uneven in pattern, but the paw marks are identical on each.
The slots on his gloves are designed to keep his long silvery claws sheathed and hidden. They are like dagger in shape but he rarely uses them; however, when they are sheathed, they are about 3-5 inches in length. Like his fox fire, they can't harm good hearted people as they are a supernatural force themselves.
While his beast form shows no abnormalities in his application, it's just put there to show it without anything unusual.
